Ordering & stock

How do I order?

Browse the catalog, pick a door, and check out online — Stripe handles payment. For custom orders, multi-door projects, or anything outside the standard configurator, call (424) 466-7707 or email info@thedoorfather.com.

Is what I see online actually in stock?

Yes — the catalog reflects current physical stock at our San Dimas warehouse, updated as orders ship. If a door goes out of stock between the page load and your order, we'll call you the same day to discuss alternatives or production lead time.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

For wood species and finishes, yes — we ship sample blocks on request (small charge that we credit back against your order). For full doors, we can't sample-ship (they're heavy and expensive to move), but we can arrange a warehouse visit to see specific stock before committing.

Do you offer financing?

Stripe accepts most credit cards and Affirm/Klarna for qualifying purchases. For multi-door projects and contractors, we offer net-30 terms after the first paid order.

Can I cancel an order?

Stock orders can be cancelled before they ship — call us right away. Once a stock order has shipped, return policy applies (30 days, original condition). Custom and prehung-assembled orders cannot be cancelled once production starts.

Delivery & pickup

How long does delivery take?

Most stock orders to LA County ship within 24 hours and arrive in 1–2 business days. Orange County typically 2 business days. Prehung-assembled stock units take 1–3 business days to build, then ship. Custom doors run 4–8 weeks before shipping.

Where do you deliver?

All of LA County and Orange County standard. We can also ship nationally on a freight basis — call for a quote. Doors are heavy items, so freight quotes vary by destination.

Is delivery free?

Free shipping on orders over $500 across LA County and Orange County. Below that, a flat shipping fee applies based on order size — shown at checkout.

Can I pick up instead?

Yes — at our warehouse at 545 W Allen Ave, San Dimas, CA 91773. Most stock orders are ready within 24 hours of order placement. Call (424) 466-7707 to confirm before you head over.

Do you deliver to hard-to-access addresses?

Yes — Hollywood Hills, Mulholland, gated communities, narrow streets, steep driveways. Let us know during ordering and we'll route the right vehicle and confirm details with you in advance.

Prehung & custom

What's the difference between slab and prehung?

A slab is just the door panel — no frame, no hinges. A prehung unit comes pre-assembled in its own jamb with hinges installed and the door pre-bored for the handle. Prehung is faster to install and you get factory-precise alignment. Slab is for replacing a door where the existing jamb is fine. More on prehung →

How long does prehung assembly take?

Typically 1–3 business days for stock doors. Custom doors run 4–8 weeks (assembly happens after the slab is built). We confirm a hard ship date when you place the order.

What custom options do you offer?

Any size, any wood species, any finish, any panel design. We routinely build doors with custom carving, decorative iron grilles, beveled and leaded glass, and custom-matched finishes. More on custom →

What's the lead time for a custom door?

Typically 4–8 weeks from approved spec to ready-to-ship. Heavily carved doors and large iron doors run toward the longer end.

Do you handle installation?

We don't install in-house — we partner with professional door installers we trust across LA and Orange County. We'll connect you with the right installer for your project. Our prehung units arrive ready to drop in — install time is typically 1–2 hours per door.

Returns & exchanges

What's your return policy on stock doors?

Stock doors can be returned within 30 days of delivery in original undamaged condition. No restocking fee. You're responsible for return shipping unless the door arrived damaged or defective. Full returns policy →

Are custom and prehung doors returnable?

No — custom orders, custom finishes, and prehung-assembled units are final sale. We confirm every spec twice and provide design previews before production starts so we get it right.

What if my door arrives damaged?

Photograph the damage, save the packaging, and call us within 48 hours of delivery. Damage claims are handled at no cost to you — we replace, repair, or refund.

Wholesale & trade

Do you offer trade pricing for designers and contractors?

Yes. Send a copy of your contractor's license or designer credentials to info@thedoorfather.com with your business details. Volume pricing kicks in on multi-door orders. We also offer net-30 terms for established accounts after the first paid order.

Do you bid on multi-unit projects?

Yes — apartments, condos, hospitality, and multi-residential projects. Send us drawings, door schedules, and timeline. We'll come back with itemized pricing and a delivery plan.

Can I open a wholesale account online?

For now, we set up wholesale accounts manually — email us your business details and we'll have you set up within one business day.
