Stock doors can be returned within 30 days. Custom orders and prehung-assembled units are final sale — we confirm specs twice before production to make sure we get them right. Damage claims are handled at no cost to you. Below is the full policy.

Stock door returns

Stock doors are anything from our 1,300+ catalog that has not been customized at the configurator (no jamb cut, no hinges installed, no factory finish applied).

Custom & prehung — final sale

Why: custom and prehung work is built specifically for your project — we cannot resell it. To make sure we get it right, we confirm every spec twice (in writing) before production starts and provide design previews on complex builds.

Damage claims

Carrier damage claims are filed by us, not you — you don't need to deal with the freight company directly.

What if I changed my mind on a stock door?

Stock doors can be returned within 30 days of delivery in original condition. Email info@thedoorfather.com with your order number to start the return. You'll be responsible for return shipping; the door price (less original shipping) is fully refunded.

Can I exchange a stock door for a different one?

Yes — exchange is treated as a return + new order. Refund the original, place the new one. Lets you keep credit card miles on both transactions instead of forfeiting them on a partial exchange.

What about custom orders?

Custom orders and custom finishes are final sale. We confirm every spec twice before production. If you change your mind during the design phase (before production starts), we can usually adjust without cost — call us right away.

What if the door doesn't fit my opening?

Stock doors are sold in standard sizes — measure your rough opening before ordering. If you misordered a stock door (wrong size), we accept it back within 30 days under standard return policy. For custom doors built to your dimensions, we cannot accept a return based on fit, since the door was built to your specification.

What if the door is defective?

Manufacturer defects are covered. Call (424) 466-7707 within 30 days of delivery with photos. We replace or refund at no cost — including return shipping.
