Beyond the 1,345-door stock catalog, THE DOORFATHER offers two production services: prehung assembly for any door in the catalog (built in-house to your jamb spec), and custom doors built from scratch to your size, wood, finish, and design. Both services run out of our LA facility.

Any door from our catalog, built into a custom-fit jamb with hinges installed and door pre-bored — drop-in ready. Choose your jamb width (4-9/16", 5-1/4", 5-1/2", 6-9/16"), hinge finish, threshold, weatherstripping, and handing. 1–3 business days for stock, 4–8 weeks for custom doors. Read more →

How to start
- For prehung: pick a door from the catalog and use the configurator on the product page to set jamb width, hinges, threshold, weatherstripping, and handing. Or call us with the spec.
- For custom: email info@thedoorfather.com with your rough opening dimensions, reference photos, and any architectural drawings. We'll come back with a spec sheet and quote.
- For multi-door projects: send your door schedule and we'll work up itemized pricing and a delivery plan
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between prehung and custom?
Prehung uses an existing catalog door and adds the jamb, hinges, and pre-bore work. Custom is built from scratch — different size, different wood, different design. If you can find a catalog door that fits your need, prehung is faster (1–3 days vs 4–8 weeks) and cheaper. If nothing in the catalog works, go custom.
Are these final sale?
Yes. Both prehung-assembled units and custom doors are final sale once production starts — they're built specifically for your project. We confirm every spec twice in writing before kicking off production.
Do you handle installation?
We don't install in-house — we partner with professional door installers we trust across LA and Orange County. Our prehung units arrive ready to drop in.
Do you offer trade pricing?
Yes — for licensed contractors and credentialed designers. Email info@thedoorfather.com with your business details to set up an account. Volume pricing kicks in on multi-door orders.
Can you build a prehung from a door I already own?
Yes. Bring or ship the slab to our San Dimas facility and we'll build the jamb, install hinges, and pre-bore. Call (424) 466-7707 to discuss specs.
